Job Seeker Workshop Reviews:
"I've been in professional sales for over 20 years and I thought I was well prepared for the interview process. After attending just a few sessions, I can easily attest to the success of the tools and practices discussed in this group. I have secured more interviews, and therefore more job opportunities, using just a few of the skills we've studied. As for Scot Cummin, he is consistently positive and creative in his role as a leader of our group. I've found Scot is always professional and willing to provide support beyond the weekly meetings. I highly recommend this group for anyone looking for a new perspective in the job search process."
"Scot does a tremendous job as Co-Facilitator of the ACT group. To me, and many members of the group, he has been more of a mentor than just a facilitator. He provides an empathetic viewpoint of the journey we go through to network and market ourselves. His ideas are sound and his approach is compassionate. I appreciate his ability to give of himself unselfishly."
"Scot's insight and professional guidance as the co-facilitator of the support ACT group was the cornerstone for my job search, one that I had not conducted in over twenty years. This group through Scott's lead, set the focus, organization and confidence I needed to conduct a successful job search. One area that stands out is the emphasis on 30 second verbal presentations of your experience especially in front of network groups and individuals during their job search. This experience was instrumental especially when preparing for interviews with potential employers. For any transitioning professional I strongly recommend Scott and this group."
"Scot is a tough but patient facilitator asking those who attend ACT to dig deep, understand their skills and strengths and create a powerful marketing plan for presenting yourself to the job market. Each week he presents a different building block of that marketing plan and you can jump in at any time. He also incorporates role playing in networking situations and giving 30 second elevator pitches to the group so you feel more comfortable in real networking situations. Scot's humor and approachability creates a camaraderie in the group that makes attending sessions feel supportive and something to look forward to. ACT is really a complete package for learning to market and sell an awesome product (yourself!) to get results in a tough job market."
"After finding myself unexpectedly unemployed at the age of 55, I was woefully unprepared to re-enter the job market. My resume was outdated, my interview skills were rusty and I was mentally unfocused. While looking at a website, a saw a calendar notice for Scott's weekly gathering for displaced professionals. It was one of the smartest things I did during my transition. His presentations were exactly what I needed. Loaded with practical advice, from resume help, to networking tips, Scott helped me take my job search to the next level. Within a short time, I was getting interviews - and I'm now employed - in my chosen field. I would highly recommend Scott. His advice, put simply, works."
